Stefano Cotone nasce in Sicilia in un villaggio ai piedi dell’Etna che, per questo, è da sempre risparmiato dal vulcano. Laureato in Scienze, viaggiatore di professione e fotografo per scelta, appassionato di Ecologia Umana, è innamorato delle persone che va a cercare là dove vivono. Conoscitore del vicino ed estremo oriente, come del Magreb e dell’America Latina, gira armato di apparecchio meccanico, zoom e buona volontà. Ha esposto su Yemen, India, Birmania, Vietnam, Ande e Cina. Ha pubblicato: Uomini, favole e cose (1989); Sette favole in B/N (1991); una raccolta di foto di bambini per conto dell’UNICEF di Como : Un futuro possibile (1998); Il lavoro:la fatica dell’uomo (1999); La preghiera: il respiro dell’uomo(2000); Donne che fanno la storia (2002)

Stefano Cotone was born in Sicily in a village at the foot of Mt. Etna. Biologist and deeply interested of Human Ecology, traveller by profession, photographer by choice, he loves the people of the countries he visits. An expert of the Middle and Far East, as well as Magreb and Latin America, he travels armed only with his camera, zoom and enthusiasm. He has exhibited pictures of Yemen, India, Burma, Vietnam and China. His previous publications are entitled Uomini, favole e cose (1989); Sette favole in B/N (1991); a collections of photographs called: A possible future (1998) about the world of children, on behalf of UNICEF, Busy people (1999); Prayer: men’s yearning sigh (2000); Women: making history (2002).
